Penny Black Saturday and Sketch Saturday

The challenge this week at Penny Black is Something To Eat and for this I used an image from Kath of the little meeces with their cupcake.

The papers are cosmo cricket amd added some card candy

I also followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday so that killed two birds with one stone today- have a lovely week end

Cute Card Thursday and Charisma Cardz

The theme this week for both these challenges is Animals

For this i did an Easter Card

Made a gatefold card and used white peel offs for the Happy Easter

the stamp is a Whipper Snapper stamp which is ideal for Easter

Cuttlebug Challenge #20

Wow can't believe it's a week since the last challenge and this week there is a super sketch by guest designer Valerie Salmon

This is my take on the sketch

I drew round a template to shape my card

The papers are by K & Co and the ribbons I bought from craft at Home

I used three different flowers two of which i embossed using the swiss dots folder and the other with the tiny bubbles and added the sentiment Happy Birthday

Charisma Cardz

The challenge this week at Charisma cardz is HUGS AND CUDDLES

I thought for this one I would use something i hadn't used in a while so I was looking through my dies and i forgot all about this cutesy bear and i thought he just screams out HUG ME so i will use that

Cut the circle from my new nesties and the paper and sentiment and chipboard are again from the wonderful cosmo cricket kit wonderful Sue gave me and added a little wire flower

Penny Black Challenge and The Pink Elephant

The challenge this week is create Get Well Soon card

This card really has no credit to me at all- the image is courtesy of Kath, my fabby Funky Hand mate and the papers , embellishments etc are courtesy of Sue.The are from Cosmo Cricket and Sue felt the kit was more me than her as every time she made anything from it she didnot like it(that sounds a bit as if Sue doesn't like my stuff!!!)only kidding Sue

I couldn't believe it when she gave me all the bits and bobs of the kit and let me tell you she has hardly used a thing from it WOW Sue thanks- big one I owe you- I'll buy the coffee from now til the year 3000

I added some glitter to the image and little jewels so I am also entering it for the Pink Elephant challenge which is Glitter

I hope the glitter shows up on the photos- but I can assure you it is there

Make a Date and Candy Alert

tomorrow night at 6pm Ideal World, Anice is having a live show airing her latest CD, Funky Daze
It is filled with wonderful papers and a male and female word book and you will be able to see all the things the design team have come up from the CD- see if you can spot which ones are mine!
I will be glued to the telly as Imissed the last live show as I was working but will be watching this one so good luck Anice and hope you have another sell out.

Cuttlebug Challenge #19

This weeks challenge is to emboss on acetate.

I embossed the acetate with the traffic jamfolder then used alcohol inks over the top.

I then cut out a wavy frame from the card blank and put the embossed acetate behind the frame.

I added a sentiment "Wonderful" and a stack of flowers with a button ans some doodling round the card.

Papers are by Funky Hand from Now That's Funky and I used the spots n dots cuttlebug embossing folder. The image is from Enfys(more funkyhand input) and what a cool image it is

Penny Black Challenge

The challenge at Penny Black this week is a sketch

and be warned- you need your sunglasses on before you look at my bright offering

The papers are from DCWV and then I embossed bright coloured card with the swiss dots, diamonds in the rough and argyle embossing folders and used the button border folder for the blue strip.

Added a coupel of flowers and some card candy and there we have it , one very bright Penny Black card

Friday Sketchers

This is the sketch for this week and this is my take on the sketch

I used dotty paper from my stash and the tiny bubbles and swiss dots cuttlebug folders

The image is courtesy of Enfys(sorry if I mixed that up and you can correct me if I'm wrong). We did an image swap at Funky Hand and i have loads of fab images to play with- just so long a s I thank the correct person for the correct image!

Cuttlebug Challenge #18

This week challenge over at http://www.cuttlebugchallenge.blogspot.com/ is to make a shaped card.

Now I'm not too sure what shape I would call my card, but let's just say it's squarishly shaped in a funny sort of way.

The papers are by K & Co. and the three small squares are embossed using swiss dots folder and spots and dots- the heart is the cut and emboss cuttlebug die which was then sanded and i added some blue ribbon , the word LOVE and three jewels.

Crufts

Been busy making a few Good Luck cards for a friend to give to people she knows who are competing at the obedience at Crufts this year, so now I have done them I will need to make a start on my own ones.

In a bit of a mood cause I won't be at Crufts this year- was there with Bud last year for the Scottish team but I normally go to spectate and I won't be going this year ... sob, sob

Will just have to make up for it by going to the Craft Fair at the SECC and buy some crafty goodies to cheer myself up !

edit- and now I must be totally losing it cause I forgot to edit my photos and lighten them up so I do apologise for the photos!

The Pink Elephant

This is a new weekly challenge and my fab Funky Hand Team mate Carol is on the DT. so i just have to join in the fun

This week the challenge is to use a great colour combo of Black, White and Pink to co ordinate with Lori's great efalump she created for the blog

For this card I used three cuttlebug folders, tiny bubbles , paisley and swiss dots

The black doesn't really show the embossing in the photos- but it is the tiny bubbles

The swiss dots was used on the bloom(well half a bloom)

and the fab little stamp was a bargain I picked up yesterday for 99p

Canvas

Made a layout on a canvas for the wall of Misty

The crotchet flowers are from Joan who spent all weekend making them for me and Sue- thanks Joan... more wool coming your way...hehe

I used a dabber to cover the canvas then brown and gold ink-hessian and chipboard letters which i glittered and some prima flowers, wire, jewels etc

I envsioned it as totally different but that is how it turned out

Penny Black Challenge

The challenge this week is Romance and the sponsor is none other than the lovely Anice at Funky Hand

so of course I just had to use Funky Hand papers.

This paper is from the new download Huge Funky Love and the penny black image comes courtesy of a fellow Funky Hand DT member- the lovely Kath

The stamp is called Hugs so I couldn't resist putting that word on the card and of course my trusty old faithfull flower- don't know what I would do without them and of course the card candy too- put them on everything now as well

Daring Cardmakers

I have not had the time lately to take part in this challenge but when i saw that the challenge this week was to create an Oriental card without using black and red I thought Ooh I have the very thing- a kit I bought ages ago from QVC with beautiful silk papers and embellishments.

The paper was so lovely in itself that it didn't need much more- I added gold ribbon and a matching brad with a tag which has flipped over to the side with the saying on it but the front matches the paper and the little sentiment in the corner says "the journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step"

House Mouse Challenge

The theme this week at House Mouse is Valentines

For this I made a circular card- which really doesn't look too circular in the photo! and used the hearts block cuttlebug embossing folder. The big heart is a sizzix die and i added I Love U, a heart, flower and feather along with my little mousey

Forever Friends

The challenge this week is to make a tall and thin cards, so i kept with the valentine theme- don't think the photos does the card justice it looks a bit better in the flesh- maybe just my photography skills- or lack of them

Huge Funky Love

Anice has released a new download over at Funky Hand at it is just dreamy- it has word books and numbers and co ordinating papers and the colours are just wonderful- lots of nice browns, greens and pinks in there

It is ideal because you are not limited to a word or two you can make any word you want to fit the occasion- you can even just use the big letters on their own for cards, layouts etc

Cuttlebug Challenge #17

The challenge at http://www.cuttlebugchallenge.blogspot.com/ this week to make a Love card or Project

For this I made a Love mini book using the large heart sizzix die

I embossed the pages using swiss dots, birds and swirls and spots n dots folders

The front cover I then embossed with silver embossing powder, attached them altogether using a ring and tied some fibres and ribbon

I used the cuttlebug heart and embossing folder to make another heart which I used on the front with half a large bloom and the sentiment For My Love

With the big day(Valentine's) not far away now it will be good to see all your wonderful creations for your loved one and I look forward to visiting your blogs

2 Sketches 4 You and Charisma Cardz

Kazans sketch this week at 2S4Yand its another great sketch and the new DT cards are fab.

This is my take on the sketch

The white card has been embossed using the houndstooth and distressed stripes cuttlebug folders

The image is from Kanban and the heart is grungeboard inked with black and red ink and the fur(faux i might add!) started its life on a Christmas gift bag and i couldn't resist recycling it

This card also fits the Charisma Cardz challenge this week which is black and white plus one more colour

And a huge big thank you to Meda for making me such a wonderful watermark
