The challenge this week over at Allsorts is Acetate

Now I do actually feel as if I cheated a bit this week cause it's a K&Co kit that I made up which is a photo holder with an acetate front. I do like K & Co stuff but it was really just a case of assembling the stuff there and not an awful lot of effort or thought involved.

Kath's Candy Challenge

or should I say it's Buddy's challenge for his third birthday- he wants you to make him a card and he is going to raid his mum's stash for a prize for the winner of his favourite card.

So how could I pass that one up- when I told Bud about it he seemed quite happy but then he found out it was not the type of candy he can eat so he quickly lost interest but Misty on the other hand found out Buddy's real name is His lordship Laurence and that was it she wanted a card made.

Coming from royalty herself( real name being Satin Duchess) Misty was very interested in Buddy and the prospect of a toy boy also from royal stock so we set about making a card for him


and this is the card we came up with to wish the Budster a very happy birthday- oh I promise not to tell his mum(Kath) that he was using her computer or that he is giving away some of her stash

2 Sketches4 You, Carol's Sketch and Some Doggy Pics

Sneaking in by the skin of my teeth for the 2S4Y sketch this week- my challenges have been a bit chaotic of late and I hope to get back on track soon

Been busy out in the garden cutting the grass and weeding and I swear the garden gets bigger every time I go to do it- I do like a nice garden but.... don't have one!! I am not very green fingered and find it all a huge chore rather than a relaxing passtime... don't see why it has to grow so quickly, the weeds especially

Anyway these are my two helpers and as you can see they seemed to be the ones having a relaxing time!

The Pink Elephant

It is a sketch this week at The Pink Elephant by Carol my lovely Funky Hand teamie and that is my take on the sketch

I used a scalloped card and added four squares of Pink Petticoat blue and white dotty paper and cut a scalloped circle in white and blue dots for the centre and added a butterfly and a little Natural tag

A simple card today as I have been rather busy and not made a card all week but going to have a whole crafty day tomorrow so just hope Mr Mojo shows up for me!

Little bit of news

The Cuttlebug challenge has come to the end of its term and there is a bit of refurb going on before it comes back. I will not be continuing on the DT for it but this leaves me more time to annoy the rest of my wonderful Funky Hand teamies and make lots more creations with Anice's amazing papers and word books. Watch this space also as lots of exciting things for the future are planned by Anice
Had a text there from a friend needing some cards for tomorrow so guess my quiet night is now out the window so i better get a start made on them as I really want to get an early night tonight

Allsorts

At the Allsorts challenge this week the challenge is WINGS

For this I did a little birdie card

The bird was put through the cuttlebug with the the tiny bubbles folder and the half flower with the swiss dots folder. The leaves were stamped in pale pink and cut out

I cheated slightly because I actually made the card a little while back but never blogged it so it was just sitting there waiting on the challenge that fitted it and the Allsorts one did the job this week with the wings theme

I am just in from a dog show and do not know at all what goes on in dogs heads!

Bud lay down in the sit stay and Misty sat up in the down stay!!!!! Come on guys you only need to sit for 1 minute and have a little lying down snooze for two minutes- its not rocket science.... personally I think they do it just to wind me up- they must have a confab in the car in the morning on the way to the show and decide what they will have a carry on with for that day!! oh well there's always the next show!!!

Sugar Bowl and Charisma Cardz

Two challenges in here- The sugar bowl is a sketch and colour combo- brown and cream and Charisma Cardz is Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend

The papers are by Jenn Wilson and of course the Sugar Nellie Image which I coloured with copics in brown and cream with a hint of pink.

I added the frosted jewels for the Diamonds to the flowers in the hat, the necklace and up the side of the card

I DO Release from Funky Hand

Anice at Funky Hand has done it again and released another fabby word book download called I Do which is a wedding download.

The papers are gorgeous and are just my colours and it just can't help getting your mojo going

Not just for wedding books but you could use it for anniversary, birthdays anything at all infact- think this might be my favvy word book release but then I think that everytime Anice works her wonders and releases something new

Cuttlebug Challenge #36

The challenge this week at the Cuttlebug Challenge is to make a male themed card using card or grunge board

I used thin card for the card and used the Argyle folder to emboss it then inked over it with borwn and yellow ink.

I used the large sizzix heart and embossed this with the distressed stripes folder

I inked string and tied this round the card and added DAD and a sizzlets shirt die cut from the wonderful papers from our sponsort his week Mary Uchida Watugami papers- Maryuchida.com

I don't think the photo does the papers justice but they have a lovely sheen to them and are embossed and double sided- gorgeous

Looking forward to visiting to see what male themed cards you make- always the hard ones to make aren't they?

Daisy & Dandelion and Cute Card Thursday

Daisy and Dandelion challenge this week is a sketch and this is my take on the sketch- you had to use bright colours with the sketch so I used Pink, green and purple

For this I made a card using my new Martha Stewart punch- woohoo, some ribbon ,a little giraffe courtesy of the lovely Sue and the quotation " My finger may be tiny but I can still wrap my daddy around it"

Cuttlebug Challenge #35

The challenge this week over at the cuttlebug challenge is MOVIE INSPIRED

Now I really struggled with this one this week because my favourite movies are Horror movies like the Hellraiser films and the Alien films- except Winnona Ryder wasted the last one! and every time I tried to come up with a movie or a card all I could think of was the Alien bursting from John Hurt and the quote In Space no one can hear you scream!

I then tried to think of other movies I love like Dirty Dancing.... but again nothing came to me I was still seeing Aliens, I then thought of the Wizard of Oz and had a couple of ideas but nothing really happening

I then moved on to the old classics like Its a Wonderful life- a smashing film... but again nothing!

And of course you can't beat the old weepies like Imitation of Life, Madam X and i even thought of the old Veronica Lake movie I Married A Witch- which is a fab black and white movie

BUT again nothing coming to me and time was running out the clock was ticking and i had to get one done and then as i was in the queue at a dog show waiting to work Misty on Sunday it came to me

(not the ideal place to get some inspiration as i am supposed to be concentrating on my dog and not cards!)

So I settled for My Fair Lady- a lovely movie with Audrey Hepburn and isn't she the most delicate and pretty looking

So there I am at my dog competition and all I can think of is when she is at the horse racing and shouts " Move your bleeding ar*e" at the horse and when she is running through her vowels time and time again with her cockney accent

So this is my long deliberated after card based on MY FAIR LADY


I used the Stylized Flowers flower on the base card and the sentiment and added the flowers to symbolise that she started off as a flower seller

Whew, bit of a story there and bet your glad I got that off my chest

The Pink Elephant

The challenge this week at The Pink Elephant is Brown,Pink and White

I used core card and sanded the edges then used K& Co flowers and layered them and added a brad in the centre and used Stampin Up stamp Friendship which I stamped in pink and some bobble ribbon

Daisy & Dandelion

The challenge at Daisy and Dandelion this week is two fold- it is a sketch and aslo black and white

I flipped the sketch over to accomodate the stamp I used- I do like using just black and white so had fun making this one
I will upload the sketch as soon as Mr Blogger decides to stop having a hissy fit

Charisma Cardz

The challenge at Charisma Cardz this week is Pink and Brown

And for this I used the stylized flowers embossing folder, Sugar Nellie stamp and a brown rafia flower and pink jewels

Now I must fly and check the dinner I think it might be burning

The challenge this week at the Allsorts challenge is Curly Swirly

For this I stamped a curly swirl on the base card in green then stamped a leaf onto white card and used the leafy branch cuttlebug embossing folder on top of that then inked the edges in dark green.

Stamped another curly swirl and cut it out and attached to the bottom added a You're Special sentiment and ribbon with a pin

Cuttlebug Challenge #34

The challenge this week at the cuttlebugchallenge.blogspot.com is to use a current Basic Grey

We all have something from basic grey in our stash so dig it out and get joining in with the challenge this week.

I used papers and chipboard squares from the Archaic range and used the Diamond in the rough embossing folder on core card

The stamped image was courtesy of the lovely Ruth and I used letter to spell out Have a Hoot

Oh I know its supposed to be summer and what do I do.... an autumn card ... but that was just what happened

2 Sketches 4 You

This week its Laura's turn for the sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You and if you haven't already then you need to check it out as they are having a 1st Annual 2 Sketches 4 You ultimate Card Showdown and there are lots of fabby prizes to be won

This is my card that I am entering for the 2S4Y 1St Annual ultimate Card showdown

I realise it might not be to everyones taste but there is something about it I really like(for a change)

I stamped the bird image onto cardboard and highlighted it with white and white chalk, inked the edges and added some glitter

The inside of a card box box idea I pinched from my Funky Hand team mate Carol and inked this and glittered it also and added you've captured my heart ribbon, a flower and a red heart

Hope the photo is ok to see it properly
