Pollycrafts

Over at Tales from Pollycrafts this week there is a double freebie- this amazing Codi image and a gorgeous Duck with a cupcake so you will be seeing a few cards with these cuties on them
There is a DT call also so hence the two freebies and the entries are open for two weeks
The minute I saw Codi I knew I had the ideal paper for her- this is from the Salt and pepper download from Funky Hand and yes I do have a thing about skulls- which reminds me I haven't used my skull die for a while....too busy being into feathers at the moment ... but not a feather in sight here
I do like a touchy feely card and things that stick out from them- pain to try and send in the post but...
Think this crystal beady thing was once some sort of Christmas Decoration but has been reincarnated to be a floraly type embelly
Added the touches of pink to brighten the card and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards
Remember to pop back tomorrow to see what the challenge at Charisma is

2 Sketches 4 You

This is the sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You this week and this is my take on the sketch

Its been a few weeks since I joined in this challenge so I just had to make time this week to join in
I used a pearlised white card and embossed and layered it and yes it those feather again- only half the bag left now... might put them away for a little while now!
added a couple of flowers and a Just Married sentiment
A simple card but I always think that white makes a very elegant card but rather difficult to get a photo of

Just Cute Bears

The challenge over at Just Cute Bears this week is All White- but you are allowed a coloured image
I used a white pearlised card and my new Peachy Keen Sleeping Teddy stamp and yes you guessed it- more feathers... won't be happy till they are all done so still a few to go!
I hope you had a lovely Mother's Day and I can't believe we are back at Monday again- better finish there before Coronation Street comes back on... see you later

Allsorts

Over at Allsorts this week the challenge is Black White and Pink- now having a thing about trying different shaped easels at the mo I thought I would try making one with my large sizzix heart die- it worked not too bad but you do see the fat end of the heart no matter now high or low you put the stopper sentiment
And rather strange feathers- new ones I got at the SECC and they seem to be more like a feather trim rather than an actual feather but I do like them
The card stock is from DCWV and the sentiment from Craftwork Cards and the pink circles are Heidi Grace
Off now to watch Most Haunted live as I forgot it was on so I have missed the beginning but will be just in time for all the lights out screaming at any sound part

Circular easel card

These are quick instructions how to make a circular easel card- I used bright spotty paper and simple embellishments just to show you how to make one . If you have already made an easel card then it is just the same process except with a circular card blank instead of the standard square shape.

I used the scalloped circle nestibility to create my card blank but you could use a CD or similar to trace round to create a circle card blank remembering to leave a couple of centimeters at the fold joined together so it is an actual card and not just two scalloped circles(can you tell that that has happened to me before...more than once!!)

lay it out as in above photo and taking the top circle score and fold in half - folding it in the way to the centre fold

Cut a single scalloped circle with nestie in the same card and attach this to the folded half of top circle so it now looks like the photo below when you stand it up

And now you are ready to decorate- you will need to put something raised on the bottom circle to stop your card collapsing and for my card I used the sentiment Some Bunny Loves You and used 3D foam so it acts as a stopper for the top of the card

Decorated my card with Marshmallow decoupage image and a butterfly from the Daisy and Dandelion range

The card stock is from DCWV

A simple but effective card- hope that is some help to those who asked how to make one but if instructions are not clear then let me know and I will try and confuse...eh.. help you

Penny Black Challenge

This week at Penny Black the challenge is to make an easel card- I am quite into making these at the moment and trying different shapes etc with them
So I got out my distress ink and inked up some card and used my scalloped nestie and inked that up too to create the easel card
The papers are from Recollections Autumn and the sentiment from Cosmo Cricket
I just loove that little mouse stamp and it reminds me so much of my little hamster
Was at the SECC yesterday and had a fabby day and a cuppa with my lovely Funky Hand team mate Kath and am going back for a little while tomorrow again- shhhh don't tell the bank manager- I managed to buy some essentials and some little treats as well, some new stamps of course and a little leaf punch
Hope you are having a good weekend

Polka Doodles

The challenge over at Polka doodle this week is a shaped card and boy is this a shaped card- this shape hasn't even got a name!!its just a no name shape of some description
The flower is from the candy doodles CD and the stamp in the centre is by Stampin up and added a bit off doodling
Am all mixed up with the days this week and feel as if its Monday but then at least the weekend will arrive quicker and that means I am nearer to crafty shopping at the SECC... can't wait to spend some pennies and get new goodies to play with

Get Funky

This month at Get Funky its Dolly's turn to set the challenge and she chose
Girls! Girls! Girls

All you have to do is use at least one Funky Hand product on your project
