Pollycrafts

The challenge this week at Pollycrafts is to make your own flowers
For this I used Moodles and chopped his legs off so he could hold the sentiment and he must be in touch with his feminine side as he is now wearing pink
The flower I punched out and layered up and added a bit of card candy in the middle
Going for a bath now and get an early night- can't keep my eyes open

Lovely day here today- hope the weather is good where you are. Have quite a few cards to make so must get on with them but might sit outside for a bit in the sun and have a cuppa before I start. Housework all done and hamster cleaned out so am free to craft away for a while.

Penny Black Challenge

This is my card for the Penny Black challenge this week which is Monochromatic brown

Now brown I can do- am a very brown person so glad it was brown and not pink- can't do pink at the drop of a hat need time to build up to pink

The card is a bit on the softer side for me too but I do love that PB flower stamp and I used Brushed Corduroy distress ink all over everything

Now I should have been saying I am having an early night tonight after working today but just had some texts and phone calls and now have some 40th birthday cards to make for tomorrow and my friend from work text to say she just got engaged so guess who is up half the night making engagement cards

And as for yesterday I did go out in the garden for a couple of hours but think I went a bit mad and went into overdrive and did too much that I am still all sore from it... silly brush broke(believe me I used stronger words at the time) and had to get down on hands and knees and scoop up dead debris and whats the deal with the weeds... where do they come from- I don't have a green finger on my hands at all except if you count growing a vast and varied and very fast growing array of weeds as being green fingered

Oh well better get stuck into these cards or there will be no bed at all for me

Made this card last night and would you believe it it fits nicely into the STITCHING theme for Allsorts this week.
I did some faux stitiching round the edges on this one
The papers are from the Daisy and Dandelion Picnic Patch and the sticker is Bubbles
A bit dull and over cast here today- now I was going to cut my grass today but I don't know, it might rain at any moment oh what's a gal to do.... crafting- grass, crafting-grass mmm let me think- of course there is no contest but maybe even if I did the back today and left the front for another day and that would still leave time for some crafting

Pollycrafts

The Pollcrafts challenge this week is a colour combo of PINK and BROWN with either GREEN or YELLOW

So I went for the green option to go with the pink and brown.The papers are by K & Co and the image is pollycrafts.

Another lovely sunny day here but did read in the paper that more snow was on the way at least here in Scotland you are always guaranteed all the seasons in one day!

Looking forward to a nice relaxing day at Craft Class tomorrow after working overtime all week

Good evening everyone, this is my card for the Allsorts challenge this week which is

Petals and Pearls- dug these Anna Griffen papers out of the museum and finally used them- so plenty of petals on this one then.

I have had a wonderful week off work crafting, dog walking and generally doing lots of nothingness and its been fab- my lovely week was shattered on Friday when I got a phone call to work tomorrow- ew yuk, don't want to work Sunday- that means Misty misses agility training and I have to WORK- yuk yuk and treble yuk but I want a new front door so I better work to get the pennies to buy one, so think about me tomorrow as you have a lovely relaxing day

Cute Card Thursday

The challenge this week at Cute Card thursday is Mono Mania and I went for purple
I based this card on Vee's sketch over at Vee's Sketch pad where you find lots of inspirational sketches- the sketch also had to have some stitching


Don't know if you can see it on the photo but the paper- which I found amongst my stash is a lovely velvety texture

Fun Fridays at Daisy and Dandelion

Still can't believe Docrafts pulled the Daisy and Dandelion blog- but they did

These were two projects I had completed for my Friday slot, so I will show them this Friday anyway

Both have used the Some Bunny Loves You Range, decoupage figures and papers and as you can image all the yummy chocolates in the box are no more- they were goooood!

Sophisticats and new purchases

The challenge at Sophisticats this week is Raining Cats and Dogs- now it can either be something involving rain, cats or dogs or all of the aformentioned so guess what I went for-DOGS
Now I know in the photo the d is missing off the word friend but when I noticed it on the photo here I have adjusted it so you can now see it

Mummy dearest kindly gave me some money for my Easter- whoopdedoo
So I bought the Martha Stewart flutterby punch and the scalloped circle nestie that I have lusted over for ages so i just had to play with them and made a simple card to try them out- weeheee I love them- so watch out you will be fed up looking at them before long!
Having a wonderful week off work- dog walking and crafting.... ah heaven
The plan at the moment for tomorrow is a Jammy Day(PJ's on all day)... now this could be hard having to take the dogs out but I have decided to look out baggy trousers and a big jumper and put them over my pj's and off we go for a walk so I won;t have to get really dressed at all
Ah bliss!

Forever Friends and a Baby Card

The Forever Friends Challenge is Spring and for that I went with a lovely blue shade- the papers are from The funky One CD from Funky Hand and added a nice flower for Spring
They are also having a DT call and who wouldn;t want to be on the DT and play with these lovelies every week- so pick me please....
The second card is one I made for my friend who had a baby at the weekend- a boy... you might have guessed
Have to rush now as have a hair appointment



Little update- I am gutted Docrafts have pulled the Daisy and Dandelion blog and the facebook page- no reason given, but as they own the copyright then I suppose they can- blah... more like Don't crafts!!!

The Pink Elephant, Just Cute bears, a disaster and Let Sleeping Dogs Lie

Yeah, I'm on holiday this week and plan to spend most of it crafting and we had a huge big long lie in today. Bud started pacing up and down and moaning and I thought I would ignore him as it was too early to get up but when I turned to look at the clock it was quarter to ten- oops, never slept that long in years, I must have needed it- so we played catch up all morning, going our morning walk, the bank ,Asda etc and then settled down for a nice afternoon of crafting
As you can see Misty is very comfortable, having a snooze in my craft room- excuse all the fluff but she does need a brush but am waiting until she is no longer damp to do that



The challenge this week at the Pink Elephant is Nature and as you can see this was my disaster as I took it a bit far, forgetting that less is more! I had an idea in my head but it went a bit wrong!!
So the next card is for The Pink Elephant then- and also Just Cute Bears whose theme this week is Green and Yellow
I do try not to combine lots of challenges but given my disaster above I decided to this time


Off now to get ahead with my Dt work and play about some more and have some coffee and mini eggs

Pollycrafts

Happy Easter Monday and I do hope you are getting a chance to do lots of crafting or doing something very exciting.

So I made a tent card using Codi and the lime paper is from the new Retro Fun wordbook download from FunkyHand
Got a few orders to get done so off to finish them before going out for dinner with the Craft Class girlies

My Spooky Night Away

EEEK- its a photo of me!!!
This was my couple of days I spent with my friend in Edinburgh. I am standing at the meeting point for the ghost walk just across from the city chambers.
We had a wonderful time- stayed in a Premier lodge in the Grass market area just round the corner from the Burke N Hare Lap Dancing Club! And what was so funny was once we got booked in we hadn;t a clue which way to go and wandered about changing direction for ten minutes or so then had to ask someone which direction to the Castle who said- er see that big building up there, that would be the castle! oops
We headed off in that direction and spent hours wandering up and down, having coffee, lunch etc then we made our way to Mary King's Close which is more or less a whole street that was built over the top off to keep the plague from spreading. It was a fantastic tour and the guide was so funny.
Later that night after freshening up and having a refreshment(or two) we made our way back to this location for our Ghost and Ghoulies walk.
this was another wonderful tour and very interesting and informative about Edinburgh history(must say it was the nasty side though) then we made our way down to the Vaults which are reputed to be highly haunted This is a piccy I took in the Vaults(which was so dark I had to do a lot of photo adjusting to make it visible). Whole communities used to live underground in these Vaults and were home to the Hellfire Club and all their dasterdly doings.
We then at the end of the two hour tour had a drink and more story telling- it was FAB FAB FAB and again the tour guide was funny and very informative.
Next day we spent eating, drinking coffee, bit of shopping then off to the Castle- spent about 6 hours in the Castle then when we could no longer walk another step we decided to come home- even my blisters have blisters and I feel about ninety years old

Photo of Edinburgh Castle- had to chop about five hundred heads out of the photo- it was very busy and alothough the weather was very cold and overcast it managed not to rain until we were heading home

This last photo is of the famous Mons Meg canon

I would highly recommend a trip to Edinburgh to anyone- there is sooo much to see and do

but do take more comfortable shoes with you than I did

My easel card has my Bud the dog character on it but this time instead of cutting him free hand with deckle scissors I used my scalloped nestie to create him

Get Funky- April

Another month has rushed by and its time again for another Get Funky challenge and this time its Kathy's turn to set the challenge and she chose April Showers.

Interpret it any way you want be it a quote like mine, an umbrella, wellies etc but remember you must use at least one Funky Hand product in order to participate and be in with the chance to win a whopping £20 to spend at Funky Hand.

I used the Dreams Come True CD for everything on the card- the papers, the images and the words
